Dinosaur Train

Weekdays at 6:00 p.m. MT/PT on the Idaho Channel;

An all-new CGI-animated series from the Jim Henson Company debuts in fall 2009. Buddy, a preschool-age Tyrannosaurus Rex, takes the Dinosaur Train to meet dinosaurs of different eras and learn about these incredible creatures. These whimsical voyages to prehistoric jungles, swamps, volcanoes and oceans encourage basic scientific thinking and skills needed to learn about natural science, natural history and paleontology.

Martha Speaks

Weekdays at 7:30/6:30 a.m. MT/PT on the Idaho Channel;
and 5:30/4:30 a.m. and 2:00/1:00 p.m. MT/PT on the HD Channel
Martha, the dog whose appetite for alphabet soup gives her the ability to speak, steps out of Susan Meddaugh’s best-selling children’s books. Using her vocal abilities and wearing disguises, Martha gets jobs, foils bad guys, wins contests and orders lots of steaks. In her vocabulary-rich environment, Martha helps 4- to 7-year-olds bolster vocabulary within the context of great stories.

Sid the Science Kid

Weekdays at 8:30/7:30 a.m. MT/PT on the Idaho Channel;
and 5:00/4:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m./12:00 noon on the HD Channel The energetic and inquisitive Sid begins each episode with a new question (“Why are my shoes shrinking?” “Why do bananas get mushy?”). Then he embarks on a day of finding answers with the help of family and friends. Co-produced by The Jim Henson Company and KCET/Los Angeles, the series features a practical in-school science curriculum, and uses music and humor to celebrate children’s natural curiosity about science in everyday life.

Arthur

Weekdays at 7:00/6:00 a.m. MT/PT on the Idaho Channel In this six-time Emmy Award-winning animated series based on Marc Brown’s books, Arthur and his friends use age-appropriate problem-solving skills to defuse their crises with imagination, kindness and humor. The series promotes literacy, and episodes focus on themes such as getting out, getting active and getting involved in the community.
